MEDecision and Wellogic Collaborate to Enhance Patient Care with Electronic Health Record Solutions

The two-stage collaboration will improve the quality and affordability of healthcare as providers who use Wellogic Consult gain access to patient-specific care recommendations supplied by managed care and other payer-based organizations that use MEDecision's Integrated Medical Management (IMM) and Patient Clinical Summary. Later, MEDecision and Wellogic will work to give managed care organizations access to clinical patient information generated by providers.

Uniting Payer and Provider Information into a Single Patient Record

Wellogic's Consult is being used to enable anytime, anywhere access to clinical information and transactions across previously disconnected parties that span across healthcare systems, communities and geographic regions. These securely connected communities of doctors, other providers, patients, payers, service providers, and employers result in more timely decision making, enhanced patient safety and quality of care, reduced delivery costs, and improved outcomes and satisfaction. The MEDecision Patient Clinical Summary takes patient information available from a health plan or other payer organizations and electronically delivers it to doctors when and where the patient is being treated, giving doctors fast, simple access to comprehensive, actionable intelligence and critical patient information that can improve outcomes and save lives. It provides a common patient view that includes a patient's historical and current medical histories and data from doctors, labs, pharmacies and other provider organizations that have been paid for by the patient's health plan.

The seamless integration between MEDecision and Wellogic systems will provide Regional Health Integration Organizations (RHIOs) and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) with a comprehensive solution that can be securely delivered to hospitals, managed care organizations, and other organizations that interact with community health information exchanges.

In the first stage of the MEDecision and Wellogic collaboration, MEDecision's IMM will offer uni-directional integration with Wellogic Consult whereby information from the MEDecision Patient Clinical Summary will be made available to users of the Wellogic portal, and shared with hospitals and IDNs that use Consult to integrate their healthcare systems.

The second stage of collaboration will feature bi-directional integration between IMM and Consult. At that point, hospital systems will be able to supply clinical information to IMM via Consult. The union of payer- and provider-based patient information will increase the scope of data available to everyone using the Patient Clinical Summary and Wellogic Consult — both the managed care organizations and the healthcare providers — whether they link to the Patient Clinical Summary through Consult or IMM.
